Glicko rating system
The Glicko rating system and Glicko-2 rating system are methods for assessing a player's strength in games of skill, such as chess and Go. It was invented by Mark Glickman as an improvement of the Elo rating system , and initially intended for the primary use as a chess rating system. Glickman's principal contribution to measurement is "ratings reliability", called RD, for ratings deviation. The RD measures the accuracy of a player's rating, with one RD being equal to one standard deviation. Twice the RD is added and subtracted from their rating to calculate this range. After a game, the amount the rating changes depends on the RD: the change is smaller when the player's RD is low since their rating is already considered accurate , and also when their opponent's RD is high since the opponent's true rating is not well known, so little information is being gained.
Ranked games allow players to compete against each other in the most competitive environment. The match lobby uses a draft mode just like our SPL games and allows for pausing during the game. Players all begin in the Bronze tier and work their way up through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and finally landing in Masters. Each tier until Masters has 5 divisions players climb through by accumulating Tribute Points. As you win games you earn Tribute. Earning more than points will promote you to the next division. You may be promoted up by more than one division if you belong in a higher division.
Proteus, Kiril, Frida, Grimm, and Rigard continues to be my go-to team, and works extremely well. The only loss I had was with my team switched to Boldtusk, Falcon, and Scarlett in place of the blues over concern about Mitsuko. My only loss so far was a yellow board created a yellow diamond, still a lot of yellows so I cleared the board by tripping the diamond hoping for a better board. Tons more yellows show up and now the defense is full mana. I lasted maybe four rounds from start of match.
