Expert Workshop on Green Jobs in the Forest Sector
Those three events will feature an international programming focusing on film, video and multimedia, gathering works of artists and filmmakers recognized on the international scene along with young artists and filmmakers. It introduces an intercultural forum gathering various guests from all over the world — artists and filmmakers, institutions and emerging organizations — to testify of their reflections and their experiences, but also of artistic and cultural contexts that are often undergoing deep changes. The event aims at presenting works to a broad audience, at creating circulations between different art practices and between different audiences, as well as creating new exchanges between artists, filmmakers and professionals. It seeks to contribute to a reflection on our contemporary culture of image via a compelling program opened to everyone.. The event constitutes a unique artistic and cultural platform in Europe for artists, professional networks and various audiences. You are commenting using your WordPress. This year, films and videos specifically chosen by Beirut Art Center, in a collaborative work of programming, are placed in dialogue with works from five thematic screening sessions. This will be a dialogue between works from France and Lebanon in the framework of an international programming. There will be a workshop on film given by the video director Christian Barani, entitled Ecriture du hasard et approche documentaire for the students and all age groups. The event explores practices between cinema and contemporary art and gathers works from 40 countries with screenings, a video and multimedia exhibition, and daily debates and roundtables. The event is a unique platform in Europe where artists can meet, exchange ideas with a large audience and set up new projects.
Les Rencontres internationales came to Madrid once more and this year with an excellent exhibition at the Tabacalera. The program is not as diverse as last year but the high quality of some of the works make it worth the visit. I will start with my favourite, a video by Hans op de Beek entitled Staging the Silence. Ironically, when I got to see this installation the sound was not working and it really changed its appreciation.
